Position Summary

Why join our team?

The Ecosystem Business Development Team sits within the broader European Service Business Office (ESBO) Team and is responsible for three key areas of responsibility.

  1. Key partner management, developing our existing partner relationships to drive revenue on our Smart TV platform, negotiating app distribution agreements on Smart TV and mobile phones, in-platform prominence and partner integration into Samsung services.

  2. Identifying, evaluating and securing new opportunities within the European OTT and mobile landscape and expanding device app ecosystem.

  3. Working with all ESBO teams (Samsung Ads, Product, Technical Account Management) and with wider Samsung network (Marketing, local subsidiaries) to improve overall partner performance and platform monetization.

Role and Responsibilities

What will this role achieve?

Business Development Lead Mobile will own the partner management and engagement strategy for our key Pan European partners. Through this pro-active engagement mobile partners will be performance managed and supported through to improve and enhance Samsung’s market position and achieve financial growth.

This position will have full accountability for working with and developing our pan European partner commercial relationships, securing additional revenue by exploring platform prominence opportunities as well as distribution agreements with our Samsung Galaxy store.

The candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, delivering against an aggressive business plan. The candidate must have an entrepreneurial mind-set, taking ownership in creating opportunities.

What will be your key deliverables?

Platform monetization

  • Leverage own existing relationships within the mobile ecosystem to generate leads and convert them to prominence (app preload) agreements.

  • Analyze market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; understanding and resolving internal priorities, making internal recommendations, and excutes opportunity to enhance the commercial value of our partnerships

Stakeholder management

  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose with a view to enhancing the company’s overall performance

  • Influence different Samsung stakeholders in order to adapt Global strategy to fit European needs.

  • Collaborates across businesses, functions, and regions to align strategy and direction with corporate and divisional approaches, systems, information and support

  • Owns partner engagement strategy, being the primary contact with the Partner and Samsung and co-ordinates and pro-actively manages partner service performance, financial tracking and analysis and as appropriate links with product engneering.

Coordination and consultancy

  • Guiding local subsidiary partnerships in order to achieve overal European business goal with consideration of each market characteristics.

  • Support Policy, enabling revenue generation on the platform with locally managed partners

Skills and Qualifications

What do we need for this role?

  • Existing contacts/relationships within the mobile app ecosystem.

  • 10+ years’ experience within a mobile app service, mobile app developer, mobile app platform or app store operator with a business development or Ad sales role.

  • Experience in dealing with senior level stakeholders (up to C-level)

  • Extensive experience modelling in ambiguous situations with both traditional financial factors and industry knowledge

  • Experience leading and implementing complex, high-impact projects with cross-functional teams

  • Experience with contracting and working with legal teams

  • Strong understanding of digital media, content distribution, advertising and consumer electronics

  • Strong problem solving skills such as prioritization, critical thinking and hypothesis development

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence

  • Demonstrated ability to craft complex, first of their kind deals.

  • Positive attitude, resilience and “Can Do” mindset
