POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Communications Assistant looking to start their career in beauty marketing. Sitting within the M.A.C UK & Ireland Communications team, you will be working across everything relating to traditional press pitching, influencer marketing and eventing all to help drive mentions and EMV. We are looking for someone passionate about social, to help tell the stories of our brand, product and Viva Glam charity initiative.

WHAT THIS ROLE DOES

PR/Communications

In charge of all product logistics including free of charge orders/pulling from store/global sample inventory for influencer gifting, press call ins, shoots, events, paid content, etc. Ensuring all deliveries are made securely and on time using various courier and postal services.

Key person managing day to day running of press office including image requests, responding to press pitches, editing press releases, managing mailing calendar, downloading assets from global site, taking meeting notes and keeping press/influencer database up to date.

On the ground team member meeting regularly with new influencers, agents and junior press keeping M.A.C top of mind.

Key support at sometimes out of hours eventing including hosting, booking travel & accommodation, assisting with venue set up and de-rig.

Owning weekly/monthly reporting sharing successes of the team and key coverage for wider Consumer Engagement team and artistry to use as sales leverage.

Managing and daily maintenance of reporting softwares Tribe and Launch Metrics capturing all social & press mentions, helping to measure success of planned activity and that we hit our KPIs, research into competitors so that data is ready for team to pull data from for wider brand reporting.

Contribute to communications strategy including creative mailers.

Influencer Marketing

Building out large scale mailing lists for press mailers, considering full sphere of influencer from Macro, Micro, VIP, MUA, TikTok and KOLs. Selecting people relevant to launch, managing shades/addresses and following up on seeding with driving EMV at the heart of everything we do.

Keeping finger on the pulse of what and who is trending and what our competitors are doing.

Drive creativity and innovation to identify ways to communication our products in an engaging way for influencers & press.

Internal Relationships

Be an approachable and contactable member of the brand, that is able to support cross functionally and represents the M.A.C PR team & the work we do proudly with key departments being education/artistry and Consumer Marketing & Social.

PROJECTS / WORK YOU WILL BE PART OF

No two days are the same in the M.A.C PR team, and this person will have a chance to support on all projects across the team. Whether that’s selecting the best influencers for our latest launch to receive PR mailers, attend events or who we should be working with for paid collaborations. Huge opportunity to build own relationships in the beauty press space through regular external meetings, as well as being a key member at branded events, including Fashion Week and philanthropic activations via our Viva Glam initiative.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESFUL IN THIS ROLE:

Passionate about beauty, fashion and social trends that can think creatively to help activate new product launches and brand storytelling.

A strong communicator that people can easily reach and know represent the brand.

Excellent organisational skills both offline when managing product and computer-based tasks to ensure strict deadlines are met.

Someone that can work well in a team but is also confident keeping themselves motivated when working on independent tasks.

Someone with a positive attitude and is not afraid to get their hands dirty.

University degree or equivalent in marketing/communications/fashion/beauty/retail led course.

Work experience or exposure to a similar role desired but not essential.
