We are looking for an EMEA Fund Controller

In this role, as an EMEA Fund Controller for CBRE Investment Accounting and Reporting Solutions (‘CBRE IA&R’), you work in a successful and ambitious organization that is leading in the Fund Accounting of Real Estate Funds, Joint Ventures and Separate Accounts. The EMEA Fund Controller reports to the Director Fund Accounting and works, in an international environment, closely with other Controllers and various departments within CBRE IA&R as well as the Controller, and others, on the clients. In this position you will support the accounting team for the financial reporting, controlling, cash flow planning, CIT and VAT. You are the link between the business, Investment Oversight, Investment Accounting, Treasury and Payments. You fulfil a key function in managing reliable and complete financial information and share your solicited and unsolicited advice with the Senior Fund Controller.

Within CBRE IA&R, you will be challenged to develop yourself, to extend your knowledge and skills and to further improve and professionalize various processes within the company.

Your responsibilities mainly consists of

• Responsible for the period-end reports, including production of the annual and quarterly reports;

• Perform consolidation of financial data including analytical review of the financial data processed by departments within CBRE IA&R;

• Prepare financial statements (income statements, balance sheets and various other accounting statements), investor reporting, NAV calculations, income distribution calculations, etc.;

• Daily partner with EMEA Senior Fund Controller within IA&R;

• Indebt analytical review of the financial data processed by the various countries within CBRE IA&R EMEA.

• Identify and built internal and client/investor required processes on budgeting, forecasting and actual reporting.

• Prepare presentations for financial- and management reports to client/investors/regulators and other stakeholders.

• Coordinate in the Fund audit process / AIFMD depository process / Services Organization Controls Reports (SOC1) on quarterly basis.

• Contribute to systems design and implementation in the financial area; and

• Project-based tasks as well as ad hoc requests

Job requirements

• Graduated from higher vocational training (Bachelor) or university (Master) specializing in finance, such as business economics or accountancy; preferred started with CPA/ACCA/CA;

• Minimum of 4 to 6 years relevant work experience, preferably in a similar position at a financial organization or Big 4;

• Solid experience with consolidation.

• Knowledge of financial ratios associated with real estate investments is preferred;

• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as IFRS and accounting principles in general;

• Experience with preparation of periodic and annual financial reports and annual audit processes;

• Strong analytical skills and critical attitude;

• Excellent communication skills and social skills;

• Accurate, independent, proactive, solution-oriented attitude and team player;

• Fluent English language skills, both verbal and in writing; and

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Department

The Fund Accounting & Reporting team is responsible for the financial reporting, budget, forecast, controlling and cash flow planning for funds and separate accounts. The team is the link between the business, customers, finance and Funds. The team fulfils an important function in supplying reliable and complete financial information and gives solicited and unsolicited advice. The team carries out checks on the underlying data of the fund and is responsible for preparing reports to external investors. Within CBRE IA&R the team has broad responsibilities including the preparation of liquidity forecasts, payment of dividend, budget forecast and the preparation of various tax returns. In addition, the team provides functional management to Investment Oversight and Investment Accounting departments within CBRE IA&R.
