Amazon Finance Business Partner, Amazon Shipping (SWA) in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Description

Amazon is seeking a highly analytical and resourceful Finance Business Partner to support our European Ship with Amazon (SWA) business, as part of the wider Middle Mile transportation network, Amazon Transportation Services (ATS https://youtu.be/en5YqrtBGvY). In this role, you will drive profitability and customer experience by directly influencing the development, planning, and execution of our transportation network. The role will require you to learn operations quickly to understand economics and key financial drivers, and gaining proficiency with Amazon data systems in order to conduct efficient analyses. You will be working closely with operations business partners, stakeholders, and other finance teams across transportation, fulfilment, supply chain, and technology to reduce cost, while improving customer experience. You are a person who enjoys operating in a dynamic, fast changing environment. You are able to process complex and, at times, ambiguous data, identifying and addressing key risks and helping operations to develop efficient customer-centric solutions. In your previous role(s), you have been successfully managing multiple priorities, proactively and clearly communicating with key stakeholders, driving projects independently, and successfully delivering within the agreed timelines. This is a very high impact and high visibility role supporting the growing EU business as it seeks to expand through new marketplaces and demand streams.

Key job responsibilities

• Owning core financial processes including annual Operating Plans, 3-year Strategic Plan, and Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews, and effectively communicating results to senior leadership in order to influence and support tactical and strategic business decisions.

• Analysing trade-offs between financial and non-financial metrics, and make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous, fast-changing environments with often limited information.

• Driving continuous improvement and standardization of processes, including implementation of best practices and automation initiatives, collaborating with technology teams

• Working on continuously improving controllership frameworks to evaluate and measure efficiency of our spend, developing metrics and reports to provide controllership to new programs, proactively identifying and leading cost reduction initiatives

• Preparing concise documents, tailored to various levels of stakeholders, and collaborating with operations’ leaders and other teams

• Exhibit social responsibility. Actively contribute to coaching more junior team members.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or other fields with analytical focus

  • 5+ years of relevant finance working experience, in a corporate finance or related analytical capacity

  • Proven ability in working with cross-functional teams and driving business decisions

  • Effective written and oral communication skills to summarize data and make recommendations

  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA/MSc, or other advanced degree

  • Relevant experience working in a supply chain, logistics, or operations environment

  • Proficiency with SQL (or willingness to learn), alongside experience with other large-scale data mining tools

  • Self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, prioritizing workload towards multiple deadlines

  • Passion for diving into complex data and analysis to learn and deliver innovative customer-centric solutions
