What's the role?

Bloomberg's communications team is looking for a senior communications professional to oversee Financial Solutions Communications in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), based in London.

This person will lead the development and execution of proactive communications strategies across EMEA to promote the firm's wide range of financial technology products and services. The role will report to Bloomberg’s Head of Communications for EMEA, working closely with Bloomberg’s dedicated Financial Solutions Communications team in New York.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in international corporate communications strategy, stakeholder management and media relations, either in-house or at a financial public relations agency. Familiarity with Bloomberg’s financial products - including the Bloomberg Terminal - is preferred, along with a strong background in financial services communications and an understanding of capital markets trends and the evolution of financial technology.

We’ll trust you to

• Build belief in Bloomberg, its products and services among traditional and growing financial audiences in priority markets across EMEA

• Lead the development and promotion of press announcements for region-specific products

• Map regional priorities against global Financial Solutions strategy and develop and execute proactive Communications strategies that support regional business goals

• Provide strategic counsel on Communications to regional leaders in Product, Marketing, Legal/Compliance

• Partner with Government Relations on advocacy strategy and positioning in response to the evolving regulatory agenda

• Collaborate with Marketing on the development of Financial Solutions content and event strategies in EMEA and on EMEA-specific topics

• Support issues management and crisis communications linked to Financial Solutions in the region

• Maintain influencer (media, industry analysts and others) relations in relevant financial and technology circles

• Manage PR agency resources in region

• Provide specialist counsel on financial services communications and relevant positioning to colleagues across the broader regional Communications function

• Implement and maintain appropriate metrics to evaluate impact and effectiveness of external communications.

You'll need to have

• 8+ years of Communications experience either in-house or at an agency within the financial services industry

• Strong understanding of the European financial regulatory environment and the capital markets ecosystem

• Familiarity with the leading regional media outlets, reporters, social influencers and industry analysts that cover the intersection of technology and finance

• Experience developing international and specialist media strategies, shaping messaging, creating compelling content and pitching stories.

• Strategic thinker, supported by deep analytical capabilities and data driven approach

• Strong executive presence as well as interpersonal skills with experience of stakeholder management and delivering at the executive level

• A healthy balance of collaboration, cooperation and autonomy. Self-motivated, detail-orientated and capable of managing multiple projects.

• Ability to translate key strategic business or financial issues into messaging that resonates with external and internal audiences.

• Excellent writing and editing skills; persuasive communications ability with internal and external audiences.
