The Role

The EMEA region boasts a licensee & retail landscape characterised by its remarkable diversity, featuring a myriad of players ranging from local champions like Ravenburger, Simba Dickie, El Corte Ingles to those with a broader footprint such as LEGO, Funko, Smyths, Amazon, PRG, Carrefour, and Lidl. This intricate tapestry presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities that require a strategic and nuanced approach.

As the EMEA Channel & Retail lead, you will be focussed on both commercial and retail execution. You will play a crucial role in navigating this fragmented landscape, defining overarching regional & channel strategies to plan retailer programs that support key IP, and the retailers who support it. You’ll collaborate with global, regional & country leads & x-functional teams to drive the development and implementation of plans to position Netflix as a leading player in the region.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work with HL lead to project manage the needs of global partners

  • Work with global & regional heads to help manage key partners

  • Project manage and ensure all stakeholders are briefed and on track

  • Work with x-functional leads to deliver plans

2. Input into Category Strategies

  • Input into Global & EMEA category strategies

  • Work with regional partner teams to implement Global & EMEA Strategies. Work with in-mkt teams to realise them.

  • Identify & optimise regional opportunities

3. Define & Deliver the EMEA Regional Channel & Retail Strategies.

  • Create EMEA HL Channel Management Strategy: Work with regional & country leads to identify & develop key channels and retailers for Netflix to establish/ grow & invest in across the categories of Hardlines & Loyalty. Key channels include E-Commerce, Toy Specialists, Grocers, Omni Channel & Discounters

  • Collaborate with regional & country leads to define tailored channel/ retail strategies for key partners, accommodating the dynamics of local champions and broader footprint players.

  • Work with regional sales teams at key licensees to create a retail strategy; optimise Netflix within their portfolios and in turn gain optimal retail plans, placement and POS

  • Develop and articulate the overarching retail strategy for the EMEA region, considering the diversity of local markets, x-categories and players

  • Analyse results post campaigns and identify opportunities & areas for improvement

  • Work with internal & external data points to understand the mkt

  • Align the regional strategy with global CP strategies and contribute to the global channel/ retail strategy.

3. Key Partner management

  • Co-build top to top & key stakeholder relationships across functions at key retailers alongside in mkt retail managers

  • Partner with Country Retail Teams to create best in class plans/ relationships across top 12 retailers

  • Own and drive the loyalty partner & global strategy.

4. Best Practices Development and Implementation

  • Drive the development, sharing, and implementation of best practices in retail across the EMEA & global region.

  • Foster a collaborative environment for sharing insights and successful strategies, creating a cohesive and efficient retail ecosystem.

5. Collaboration with Key Stakeholders

  • Work with category leads to optimise EMEA footprint

  • Foster collaboration to ensure a unified approach to retail opportunities that transcends individual market constraints.

  • Work with Marketing team to create optimal Retail Marketing impact

  • Work with licensees to help optimise listings once loyalty programs are agreed
