Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Data Scientist to join our growing Clinical Data Science team. This role will closely collaborate with other members of the Clinical Data Science team, Product Management, content matter experts, and Technology teams across Citeline’s parent company, Norstella, to identify and further drive development of innovative advanced analytic solutions that address key customer problems “from pipeline to patient”, ranging from (but not limited to) clinical trial planning and execution strategies, whilst also helping to guide methodologies and internal processes.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Work within the Clinical Data Science team, alongside the Product Management and Technology groups across Citeline and Norstella, to address key customer-driven problems within the product roadmap.

  • Explore and apply predictive modelling, machine learning, and Generative AI techniques to internal and new datasets to advance the product portfolio.

  • Propose new analytics concepts and develop proof of concepts for Product Management to gain customer validation before progressing to full product development.

  • Use natural language processing, advanced data mining techniques, machine learning, and Generative AI to extract maximum value from structured and unstructured data sources.

  • Responsibilities extend to identifying and selecting any new analytics tools required to support innovation.

  • Work with Data Engineers to guide data transformations, alignment, and linking of existing data within our data architecture to drive analytics.

  • Work alongside teams to identify new data assets that can support and enhance Citelines advanced analytics offerings.

  • Identify ways to optimise internal ways of working and processes.

Key requirements

  • Master's in computer science, statistics, or other quantitative subject with extensive full-time post-graduate industry experience.

  • Proficiency in advanced analytics methodologies including but not limited to machine learning (classification, regression, clustering, feature selection and engineering, model evaluation, model explainability or interpretability, etc.) and other statistical analysis techniques for both data analysis and to guide appropriate model evaluation.

  • Experience with working with Large Language Models (e.g., Claude 3 models, Llama, Mistral, Dolly, etc.), Generative AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI), SaaS (e.g., AWS SageMaker) and/or PaaS (e.g., AWS BedRock, Azure OpenAI) solutions.

  • Experience with common data analytics programming languages (Python) and related best practices (PEP-8), libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, scipy, nltk, spaCy, etc.).

  • Knowledge of data visualization tools, such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, dask, Pydash, Bokeh.

  • Experience with working within the AWS cloud environment, particularly with SageMaker, Lambda, API Gateway, and S3.

  • Understanding of software engineering best practices (e.g., object-oriented programming, unit and integration testing, etc.) and technologies (e.g., CI/CD).

  • Exceptional attention to details, and extremely strong problem-solving skills to anticipate and proactively recommend solutions.

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

  • Strong written and verbal communications, including with senior executives and customers.
