OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION
Growth & Middle Market Technology Banking is a specialised team dedicated to building lead relationships through delivering sound, strategic, and balanced advice to early stage, growth stage, mature, and public companies.
The mission for this team is to:
Deliver in-depth technology industry knowledge, with a focus on industry trends, dynamics, and the competitive landscape.
Accelerate the strategic dialogue between the client and MUFG.
Provide access to an industry specialised credit organisation, delivering faster decisions to the client.
Align relationships within GMTT and all product partners.
Leverage MUFG’s advanced technology partnerships, innovation, strategic & commercial capital teams.
Engage with venture capital firms and access partnerships with venture debt lenders.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Primary support for originating, evaluating and underwriting loans and other credit exposures to Growth and Middle Market Technology Companies. Supporting Growth and Middle Market transaction origination and execution efforts. Critical functions include assessing client profitability, risk factors associated with each credit and determining origination efforts based on established policies and guidelines. Responsibilities will also include pitching, marketing support for all origination activities plus credit management and monitoring the portfolio with the goal of maximising the bank’s net income while minimising credit costs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work within a deal team environment to support the origination efforts and management of the Growth and Middle Market Credit Solutions business unit
Perform due diligence on new transactions as well as regularly scheduled evaluation of the existing loan portfolio
Provide support for execution, evaluating, structuring and negotiating terms and credit agreements with clients
Support the preparation of detailed business rationales and credit analyses inc required credit applications in accordance with internal policies and regulatory guidance, including the evaluation of company-specific, industry, and regulatory risks; and company historical operating performance, projected operating performance and capital structure
Modelling skills required for both the capital and credit application process and quarterly review presentations
Provide support for the syndication strategy, including lender presentations and liaison with participant lenders, and participate in client and bank meetings as necessary
Understand and maintain knowledge of industries represented in portfolio, including technical aspects and regulatory issues utilizing internal and external sources
Oversight of facility closing and booking procedures including both operations and documentation
Policy and Transaction Responsibilities:
Support the communication with all internal product partners and the credit approval division including final hold level strategies to ensure alignment
Evaluate and establish appropriate profitability for transactions and correlate appropriate exposure level with regard to exposure on both a transaction and group level
Ensure compliance with policy and regulatory requirements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Annual recurring revenue or emerging cash flow lending experience with growth tech companies.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Experience of working in financial institutions or equivalent origination and credit related functions, analysing corporate borrowers
Knowledge of accounting and corporate finance
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Strong time management and organisational skills
Attention to detail
Strong financial modelling skills required
Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
