Analyst – Loan Asset Management – Client Based

Role Purpose

CBRE is seeking an Analyst to join our Loan Asset Management team in London. This position is client facing, requiring excellent analytical skills and experience in real estate debt. The role involves supporting the asset management of a pan European mixed real estate loan portfolio for a leading global private equity firm.

Key Responsibilities:

‒Forward looking monitoring and assessment of loan performance (performance vs. underwriting and vs. sponsor business plan).

‒Analyse financial statements and cashflows and identify any irregularities.

‒Recalculate/modify cashflows and spread financial covenants in line with LMA structured finance definitions.

‒Manage property and tenant level data including the financial trends, credit ratings and relevant ESG credentials.

‒Analyse development budgets against actual costs and contingencies. Monitor development and capex project progress.

‒Participate in relevant client meetings and present to relevant stakeholders.

‒Evaluate and prepare recommendations for client consent items on loan and real estate related issues.

‒Maintain the integrity of loan information within the loan asset management system.

‒Support on special projects as required.

Person Specification/Requirements:

‒Proven relevant experience in UK & European real estate debt, lending or equity sector.

‒Debt due diligence and transaction management experience.

‒Familiarity with LMA structured finance.

‒Excellent analytical skills, both commercial and financial including an advanced knowledge of financial modelling techniques.

‒Ability to run your own analysis / models for transactions.

‒Work independently on projects and as a team player.

‒Fluency in European languages will be an added advantage.

Education and Qualifications:

‒Educated to degree level or equivalent with a minimum two years’ relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

‒CAIA, CFA or MRICS preferred, however not essential.
