The Apprenticeship Program:

The Apprenticeship Programme at Bloomberg is an exciting opportunity to enter the company in a full-time role, take on real responsibility, and discover new skills from day one. Our apprentices make meaningful contributions to our company, while also learning across the industry. Targeted at school leavers, young professionals, military veterans, and those seeking a career change, our program is designed to bridge the gap between the British education system and the ever-changing job market.

The Employee Operations Team:

Our Global Employee Operations Team is central to this effort by providing platinum support to nearly 22,000 employees and more than 500,000 annual visitors in more than 170 innovative offices around the world. We are a close-knit, hardworking team who rely upon a complex set of proprietary and third-party systems to deliver the services we provide; and those systems are the key to understanding where we are successful, and where we can develop.

This team is therefore crucial to the smooth operation of the internal IT, Mobile and AV systems at Bloomberg and providing exceptional technical support to our employees. Our 22,000 employees generate more than 320,000 service requests each year through a ticketing system that drives both human and automated services—from Software Installations to Hardware Upgrades and Event Support. We handle approximately 400+ software titles, as well as monitoring our entire corporate network that consists of 28,000 PCs, 50,000 screen displays and 120,000 network connections.

As an apprentice you will sit within our Service Desk, Mobile or Desktop team. A day in the life of an Apprentice in Employee Ops would look something like the below:

  1. Exposure and hands on experience to bleeding edge technology, the latest Laptops, Smartphones, Tablets, MacBook's, Desktop PCs, AV equipment etc

  2. Opportunity to work with all levels of the business, from third party vendors, Individual Contributors to VIPs

  3. Training and Development is encouraged - the opportunity to upskill with recognised courses and certifications, both internally and externally

  4. Delivering platinum level customer service and best in class technical support to our 22,000+ colleagues in all offices, globally

  5. Opportunity to shadow other departments to truly understand how Employee Operations fits into the wider business

  6. Involvement in projects and an opportunity to make an impact through ideas, feedback, innovation and collaboration

  7. Utilise the Agile methodology of Scrum

Eligibility criteria:

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4 - 9 in any subject (Should include Maths & English)

  • Learners must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject

  • Possess the right to work in the UK

  • Have lived in the UK continuously for the past 3 years

  • Must have a foundational knowledge of technology processes and systems, such as popular operating systems and software applications. Plus an eagerness and aptitude to learn new technologies.

  • Strong customer service skills including telephone etiquette and a professional demeanour

  • Multi-tasking and problem-solving skills as well as an ability to work independently and as part of a larger global team

  • Careful attention to detail, with an aptitude for working quickly and accurately

  • Strong time and workload management

  • Ability to thrive in a high pressure and fast-paced environment
