Overview Reporting to the Assistant Director of Stewardship, the Stewardship and Donor Engagement Coordinator (Advancement Coordinator) manages donor acknowledgments and reports showing impact, prepares leadership acknowledgment letters, communication templates, and other communications as necessary to further the stewardship mission, collaborating with other Advancement team members and USU entities.
This position works in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Stewardship to coordinate information for impact reports and compiles it to submit to the Strat Comm team. Impact reports may be requested by USU leadership, academic units, and other USU internal stakeholders.
This position maintains the online inventory of donor-named campus entities, which includes coordinating information and photographs to be updated on the website. They also track stewardship activities for reporting purposes.
As part of the team, the Stewardship and Donor Engagement Coordinator takes part in donor engagement strategy planning and may assist with event and donor engagement planning and execution, as needed.
The Stewardship and Donor Engagement Coordinator must ensure the highest level of accuracy, quality, timing, and other details in all aspects of work. The Stewardship and Donor Engagement Coordinator must execute excellent judgement and have good writing skills. They must be a collaborative and positive team member, be flexible and able to work under tight deadlines. They must be comfortable navigating data to track Stewardship and Donor Engagement impact to help ensure data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities Leadership and Goals:
- In collaboration with the Stewardship and Donor Engagement Team and the Assistant Director of Stewardship, sets goals, objectives, and plans for creating an exceptional gift and engagement experience for USU's donors.
- Leads the strategy for assuring donors are thanked meaningfully and are aware of the impact of their giving.
- Makes recommendations to improve the donor acknowledgment and impact reporting process.
Strategic Planning and Coordination:
- Manages USU's donor acknowledgment plan, ensuring that donors to the University are thanked appropriately, timely, and accurately according to gift levels, donor history, and special circumstances. The Stewardship and Donor Engagement Coordinator leads all levels of the process, including working with university units and preparing mailings.
- Drafts and shepherds leadership thank you letters through the editing and approval process, collaborating with development officers and other partners to ensure personalized and meaningful communications.
