Job Title: Senior Cost Analyst
Location: North Logan, UT (works on-site)
Reports to Site Controller
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cost Analyst to join our team at Spartronics that serves as a government contractor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government accounting, cost accounting in a manufacturing environment, and experience with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audits. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with government regulations and for providing accurate cost analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Analysis:
- Develop and maintain accurate cost analysis systems and processes.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Conduct cost variance analysis and provide actionable insights to management.
- Government Contract Accounting:
- Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
- Prepare and review incurred cost submissions and other government-required reports.
- Support pricing proposals and contract negotiations with detailed cost analysis.
- DCAA Audit Support:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for DCAA audits.
- Prepare for and coordinate DCAA audit activities, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit inquiries.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with detailed cost analysis and insights.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Production, and Program Management to ensure accurate cost information.
Mentor and guide junior accounting staff in cost accounting principles and government accounting practices.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or C MA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Preferably in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
- Extensive experience with government accounting standards, particularly wi h FAR, CAS, and DCAA audits.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Prior experience in a government contracting environment.
