Overview We seek to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate in seasonal prediction of precipitation across the United States. This is a two-year position with the possibility of extension pending external funding.

Responsibilities The postdoc will focus on the seasonal prediction of precipitation over the United States. The applicant will work closely with the project team at NOAA's Climate Prediction Center. We seek to appoint the candidate with experience in climate modeling, large-scale circulation, applied statistics, hypothesis testing, scripting, and large reanalysis/reforecast/model data sets.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in atmospheric science, meteorology, climate science or other related field (e.g., physical geography and hydrology). Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experiences in climate modeling, large-scale circulation, applied statistics, hypothesis testing, scripting, and large reanalysis/reforecast/model data sets.
