Overview The Utah State University Admissions Office seeks an energetic student-oriented individual to join our Events Team. The Event and Outreach Coordinator (Event Coordinator) will be primarily responsible for large scale recruitment events hosted on- and off-campus by the Admissions Office (attendance ranges from 300-1500 prospective students and their families). This position requires excellent interpersonal, logistical and organizational skills as the candidate will work with prospective students, parents, counselors, USU departments, vendors, venues and other community members.

Recruitment at USU is a team effort. The successful candidate will be instrumental in creating meaningful experiences with USU that impacts a student's decision to enroll. Event attendance increases the likelihood that a student chooses USU and is a crucial enrollment management indicator. This position will assess event metrics, explore ways to innovate, and build relationships among all USU campuses, departments and colleges. The candidate must be a self-starter, work well both independently and in a team.

This position allows for flexibility in the work schedule and can accommodate slight variations to traditional business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.

Responsibilities Utah State University Leadership Conference

As a member of the Events Team, this position will be responsible for the Utah State University Leadership Conference hosted by the Admissions Office. To learn more about this program, please visit the USULC website.

This includes conception, planning and execution of the events as well as coordination with staff and students across campus. The successful candidate is prepared to train students and staff on how to assist at events as well as manage budgets ranging from $10,000 to $350,000. The Conferences and Outreach Program Coordinator will act as a liaison to other departments and community partners. Adept logistical and project management is key as event attendance ranges from 300-1500 prospective students as well as 150+ university staff. This involves arranging travel, food, lodging, venues and transportation inside Utah. The events will be supported by the Ambassador Program and this candidate will work directly with current USU students by training them and enforcing expectations. These events and activities all advance our mission of recruitment and helping prospective students find their best fit at USU.

Community Outreach and Engagement

Community outreach is a new focus of the Events Team, and the successful candidate will be creative, innovative and take initiative with this opportunity. This includes, but is not limited to:
