Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Location/Division Specific Information

This position is located in Logan, UT, USA

How will you make an impact?

Join our Manufacturing Engineering Team, consisting of mechanical engineers, controls engineers, project managers, and technicians. Together, we oversee equipment at various division manufacturing sites.

What will you do?

This position shares responsibility for activities related to specifying, designing, fabricating, and qualifying new equipment and equipment improvements crafted to improve productivity, capacity, cost reduction, and efficiency. Specifically, you will be responsible for the mechanical engineering and machine build aspects of these activities.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (BSME preferred)

  • OR, minimum of 4 years proven applicable technical experience

Experience

  • Experience in analyzing data and applying objective judgement to resolve problems

  • Experience in applying engineering principles and industry standards to mechanical designs

  • Experience in managing assignments across multiple engineering projects

  • Experience in completing project work within set budgets and timelines

  • Exposure to the specification, design, fabrication, and qualification of automated manufacturing equipment

  • Experience with engineering tools and methods for tasks such as experimentation (DOE), risk assessment (FMEA), process control (SPC), and statistical analysis

  • Exposure to design and implementation of automation systems for high-mix/low-volume production desired

  • Exposure to machine design to applicable ISO standards and CE directives desired

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Experience in SolidWorks (or similar CAD)

  • Experience in technical writing including authoring engineering protocols, reports, and procedures

  • Medical Device/Biopharmaceutical manufacturing (i.e. GMP, FDA, ISO 13485) experience desired

  • Self-motivated with good problem solving, communication, and coordination skills
