Overview The primary duty of this position is to assist and support the collaborative work activities that Root for Kids and the Preschool Development Project (PDG5) at Utah State University (USU) are developing together in San Juan County, Utah. Root for Kids services focus on serving children with developmental delays, birth to three years of age and their families.  This position will help to improve connections between families and early intervention services provided by Root for Kids. This includes opportunities to support community outreach, facilitate collaborative activities with other Early Childhood Care and Education organizations in San Juan County.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities and will report to both the SJCHD and PDG5 designated staff. This position is contingent on grant funding which currently ends December 31, 2025.

Work will require travel via personal vehicle to various locations across San Juan County. Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to USU policies and reimbursement rates.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain networking with other Early Childhood Care and Education, birth to eight organizations in San Juan County.
  • Support community outreach, including looking for, finding, and screening children and families who may be eligible to use services provided by Root for Kids.
  • Assist on work tasks, as appropriate, to support Root for Kids and PDG5 collaboration goals, and coordinate efforts to ensure that quality work is completed on time.
  • Participate in project meetings and project activities as needed.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or higher.
  • Experience working with rural/frontier multicultural diverse populations.
  • Access to reliable transportation to multiple sites within San Juan County.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience helping people connect to the help and resources they need, such as health, education, and financial
  • Demonstrated ability to:
  • Engage with diverse cultures, particularly with underrepresented or marginalized communities.
  • Work with San Juan County's multicultural diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated experience with San Juan County agencies and/or coalitions.
  • Demonstrated experience in early childhood programs.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children with disabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
