Interior, US Fish and Wildlife Service Student Trainee (Admin Support) in Lodi, California

Summary This position is part of the R8-Lodi Fish and Wildlife Office. As a Student Trainee (Admin Support) you will be responsible for administative support duties within the program. Responsibilities Only experience and education obtained by 07/09/2024 will be considered. As a Student Trainee (Admin Support) your duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Uses a personal computer or computer terminal with varied keyboard procedures to type a wide variety of materials involving different forms, formats, arrangements, preparation, and processing procedures. Provides guidance and assistance on applicable procedures, instructions and regulations to other personnel within the assigned office. Prepares obligations, reviews and processes invoices and vouchers, and enters information into an automated administrative accounting and financial management systems. Prepares purchase orders for supplies, equipment, and services for the assigned office and coordinates with the appropriate staff with purchasing authority. Prepares, maintains, and insures accuracy of time and attendance reports through the electronic time and attendance system. Basic Requirement: A student who has been accepted for enrollment or who are currently enrolled at least half-time in an accredited college, professional, technical, vocational, or trade school pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate, in a discipline/academic program related to the position. Minimum Qualification [GS-3] In order to be eligible for this student appointment at the GS-3 grade-level, you must have completed 1 (one) academic year of post-high school education. An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours or the equivalent in an accredited college or university. (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts or degree audits to verify your qualifications for this grade level). Minimum Qualification [GS-4] In order to be eligible for this student appointment at the GS-4 grade-level, you must have completed 2 (two) academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree (two years of full-time academic study is defined as 60 semester hours, 90 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university) in a discipline/academic program related to the position. (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts or degree audits to verify your qualifications for this grade level). Minimum Qualification [GS-5] In order to be eligible for this student appointment at the GS-5 grade-level, you must have completed 4 (four) academic years of post-high school study leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree (four years of full-time academic study is defined as 120 semester hours, 180 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university) in a discipline/academic program related to the position. (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts or degree audits to verify your qualifications for this grade level). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education PROOF OF EDUCATION: All applicants must submit copies of official or unofficial transcripts which include grades, credit hours earned, major(s), grade point average or class ranking, academic standing, institution name, and student name. If any required coursework is not easily recognizable on transcripts, or if you believe a portion of a particular course can be credited toward meeting an educational requirement, you must also provide a memorandum on letterhead from the institution's registrar, dean, or other appropriate official stating the percentage of the course that should be considered to meet the requirement and the equivalent number of units. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable; however, if you are selected for the position, you will be required to produce the original official transcripts. PASS/FAIL COURSES: If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society. GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
