The Assistant Manager acts as a brand ambassador by consistently creating a Store environment that is engaging, entertaining, innovative, and magical while upholding the integrity of the Disney brand to ensure that our Guests have “The Best Retail Experience in the World”. This is achieved through providing outstanding Guest Experience, developing Cast Members, maintaining Store visual standards, and following well-established policies and procedures. This is a full-time, exempt position.

You will report to the Store Manager

This is a Full-Time role located outside of San Francisco, CA.

What You Will Do

  • Support the Disney Store Mission of “Creating Magical Moments for Guests of all Ages” through encouraging communication, integrity, and passion for the Brand

  • Coach and empower Cast Members to achieve maximum performance levels through daily feedback and performance management while upholding an environment that builds exceptional Guest Experiences. This is accomplished by fostering collaboration among Store, peers, and District partners.

  • Perform the Stage Manager role inspiring Cast to share knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion for the Disney brand with internal and external Guests.

  • Prioritize allocation of time and scheduling to champion and deliver the Disney experience for all Guests.

  • Build and maintain excellence in Store standards that uphold the Guests’ expectations in storytelling and visual standards.

  • Share ideas and collaborate with Store Manager to optimize innovative, high-quality product accessibility to meet Guests’ needs and partners in the selection, development, and retention of Cast Members.

  • Reward and recognize the team; celebrate the achievements of others.

  • Deliver operational excellence while controlling expenses (payroll, shrink, supplies, etc.) to positively impact Store’s profitability.

  • Ensure adherence to all Company policies and procedures to protect Company assets, and to comply with federal, state/provincial, and local laws

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple business priorities through time management, prioritization, and organizational skills

  • Must have open availability for a flexible work schedule that meets the needs of the business, including overnights, evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts

  • The job may require lifting boxes that weigh up to 40 lbs. and climbing a ladder

  • Must maintain a professional appearance and carry out Disney Store guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of management experience in specialty retail in a leadership role

  • College Degree or equivalent experience

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

The hiring range for this position in San Francisco, CA is $52,400 to $70,100 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
