Setpoint Systems Corporation Controls Technician - BAS Building Automation Systems in Littleton, Colorado

BAS CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN

Construction/Controls Technicians work with the teams doing installation and maintenance for Building Automation Systems.  This position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated control systems in our client's facilities This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software components of control systems.   Other responsibilities include project startup, turnover, customer training, and  generating and maintaining project documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Install, maintain, and repair control systems: Responsible for the setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), sensors, and other automation equipment.

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting: Identify issues in control systems and equipment, providing effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

  • Program and configure PLCs: Develop and modify PLC programs using industry-standard languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function Block Diagrams.

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance: Implement regular checks to ensure control systems are operating efficiently and reliably.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with engineers, maintenance personnel, and other team members to support continuous improvement initiatives and projects.

  • Document and report technical information: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and modifications for reference and compliance purposes.

  • Ensure safety and compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while working on control systems and equipment.

     

     

    Qualifications:

    Education: preferred Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field.

    Experience: Minimum of 1-5 years of experience as a Controls Technician, Automation Technician, or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

     

    Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with control systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider Electric.

  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including schematics and wiring diagrams.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.

Preferred Credentials: 

  • Building Automation experience

  • Systems Integrator experience

Extensive product training will be provided and required

Job Parameters

On site position - in Littleton, south of Denver.  Occasional visits to Colorado Springs office  Benefits include –
