Overview

The responsibilities of Operations Developer Intern will vary by project and include creating, testing, and implementing solutions, as well as providing training and documentation. You will manage tasks and documentation using an issue management system, oversee change and release management, and participate in defining and analyzing requirements. Additionally, you will work with the team to design and implement technical solutions, adhering to SDLC best practices.

General Responsibilities:

  • Obtain proficiency on the applications, functionality, and processes used within the Market Operations Development team that are in-scope for the assigned project.

  • Work with team members to obtain experience as a developer and to understand what we do here at SPP.

Development Responsibilities:

  • Specific development requirements will depend on the assigned project

  • Develop, test, and implement solutions to assigned project

  • Provide training and documentation on the work or processes that were developed.

  • Utilize an issue management system to oversee the documentation and management of assigned tasks

  • Coordinate change and release management

  • Participate in analysis and definition of customer, business and technical requirements

  • Coordinate with the team to design and implement technical solutions

  • Follow SDLC best practices for development activities

Education Requirements:

  • A college student entering their Senior year working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field

Experience Requirements:

  • No experience required

Preferred :

  • 3.0 GPA or above preferred

  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, and PPT.

  • Financial, analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Experience with any of the following could be utilized: SQL, SAS, Groovy, Java, Linux, Tableau, Oracle, Mongo

  • Ability to communicate effectively with settlement analysts, accountants, engineers, management and senior management. This communication, both written and oral, is for the purposes of requests, analysis, coordination, guidance and presentations

  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus

  • Knowledge of computer business applications and data base management systems

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to make decisions, interpret data, and problem solve.

  • Requires the ability to work and collaborate with managers and employees at all levels to exchange ideas, information, and opinions to facilitate the task.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is an intern position. Days and hours of workweek are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
