Pulaski County Special School District General Maintenance - Equipment Operator in Little Rock, Arkansas

LOCATION: Maintenance Department

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma/GED

  • Five years’ experience operating bulldozer, excavator, backhoe, and front end loader.

  • Valid Arkansas commercial (A) driver’s license

REPORTS TO: Grounds Foreman

JOB GOAL: To provide students with an attractive and safe, natural environment in which to learn.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Operate various kinds of heavy equipment. E.g. dozer, backhoe, skid steer, excavator, etc.

  2. Measure and cut to grade using optical or laser transit equipment

  3. Dig footings to grade stakes.

  4. Dig pipe lines and electrical conduit lines.

  5. Assist all areas of Maintenance Department with heavy equipment when needed.

  6. Maintain and service equipment.

  7. Perform some building maintenance when needed.

  8. Evaluate and implement grading projects for drainage, roadways, etc.

  9. Work with and assist other staff/trades as directed.

  10. Perform some heavy lifting.

  11. Perform work in extreme weather conditions.

  12. Perform work underneath, on top of, and in attics of buildings.

  13. Perform work at varying heights on a ladder.

  14. Respond to after hour emergencies.

  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :

Salary Range: Range 11- Support Staff Hourly Salary Schedule ($15.84/hr. - $29.03/hr. depending on relevant experience)

Length of Contract: 244 contract days

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Personnel Status: Classified

EVALUATION :

Performance of this job will be evaluated according to provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
