Position Purpose
The Industrial Maintenance Electrician is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company’s facility buildings and equipment. Their duties include but are not limited to preventative maintenance programs, installs, trouble shooting, and repairs for facility electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, apparatus and devices.
Essential Responsibilities
Ability to read and understand system schematics, specifications, and performance data to determine configuration and purpose of system components such as compressors, motors, pumps, fans, switches, controls, relays, transformers, contacts, etc.
Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and building equipment. Connects power supply wires to machines and building equipment, connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, MCC circuits, variable frequency drives and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and components.
Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and sensing devices.
Will be responsible of all 3 phase 480/277 VAC, 3 phase 120/208 VAC, and 120/240 VAC equipment.
Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
Respond to work order tickets in a prompt manner; close out tickets as completed.
Performs preventative maintenance tasks on all electrical equipment and completes documentation
Work in a variety of different disciplines – Electric, HVAC, Plumbing, carpentry and general maintenance.
Work with co-workers in a professional manner; build credibility and trust.
Communicate with management.
Manage priorities as they change throughout the shift.
Keep a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including tools and equipment.
Ensure TAIT’s 5 standards of care are coordinated into daily activities: Safety, Quality, Team, Schedule, and Cost.
Take ownership for decisions, actions, performance, and behavior.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of a certified technical school; Successfully completed Apprenticeship Program; Journeyman status.
Must be versed in the use of multimeters, megohmmeters and amp-probes. Must be able to use and interpret the data.
Minimum (7) seven years related experience in a manufacturing facility.
Forklift and Scissor lift certification required, will certify on-site.
Highly skilled in using various hand and power tools.
Capability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
Ability to troubleshoot using basic problem-solving techniques.
Comfortable working in a shop environment.
Knowledge of MS Office a plus
Knowledge of Epicor, Slack, and/or Box a plus
Communication skills which include, but are not limited to, written and oral communication, active listening, nonverbal communication.
Teamwork through development of skills to collaborate with others to achieve departmental goals.
Dependability, responsibility, and consistency in job performance
Willingness to learn and ask questions.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility with work schedule, including some holidays and alternate shifts are required; ability to work additional hours, beyond standard schedule, in any given week as needed. Overtime may be needed for this role to meet deadlines. Availability for periodic ON CALL work is required.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to frequently walk, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, stoop, and kneel each day. Specific requirements are:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift or move 50 lbs.
Must be able to carry 50 lbs.
Must be able to pull or push 50 lbs.
Work conditions of the role are:
Work conditions may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
May work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions,
Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work within or visit areas where required. This includes safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and other PPE as required by the location.
