Senior Electrical Engineer, Molex LLC, Lisle, IL:

Job Duties:

Architecture, development, design, simulation, optimization and testing of wireless charging coils, magnetic components, resonant tank, (FSK, ASK demodulation, FOD, resonance frequency, coil switching, etc.) for automotive applications from concept creation to series production. Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional development teams. Prepare and present technical proposals and reviews. Create and document detailed technical requirements, low-level circuit designs, and test plans. Ensure Design for Excellence (DFx) activities are completed with economic thinking basis. Lead successful completion of design validation testing, EMC/EMI testing, and debugging. Design Switching Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) and mixed-signal and analog circuits. Complete DFMEAs. Support with internal and external product certification (Qi), interoperability, compliance tests, ASPICE, functional safety. Development of platform and product concepts to innovate and improve charging efficiency, charging area and performance of the wireless charger. Mentor and train engineers from the Global team.

Minimum Requirements:

Employer requires a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 2 years of experience in wireless power transfer system design, wireless power coils for automotive in-vehicle applications, and Qi compliance.

\ Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Wireless power coils and WPTS using circuit simulation, GNU Octave, ANSYS Maxwell, NOK9 system, and XYZ gantry system;
  • ASK, FSK, resonance frequency, FOD, DC-to-DC conversion, and circuit design for both transmitter and receiver side;
  • Class D, Class E, and Class EF bridge inverter designs for automotive wireless charging application;
  • Qi designs;
  • EMC and Qi compliance, testing, and debugging; and
  • Design for automotive functional safety.
