What you will do
We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Strategic Sourcing team at the AMGEN Capability Center Portugal (ACCP). As a leader within the Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) team, the Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager will be responsible for leading continuous improvement in sourcing processes, tools and operating model, and regional Sourcing Activities to deliver efficiency, quality and any enablement required to achieve the business goals through supplier sourcing and partnering. Additionally, this leader will influence and develop regional productivity & value initiatives for key business partners.
Key responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Global Strategic Sourcing, the main responsibilities include:
Lead regional Sourcing Activities to deliver efficiency, quality and any enablement required to achieve the business goals through supplier sourcing and partnering
Be a trusted advisor to the ELMAC /ACCP Management Team regional counterparts – ability to grow and maintain influence of Sourcing Agenda
Co-Lead (With the Countries Sourcing Senior Managers) a 12 Quarters pipeline of savings and value creation in alignment with category and business strategies delivered against Finance’s annual budget plan
Commit to continuous improvement in sourcing processes, tools and operating model
Develop team capabilities and cultivate a culture of diversity and inclusion
Develop and lead strategy for regional spend priorities
Influence and develop regional productivity & value initiatives for key business partners
Be a sourcing professional with strong financial competence, experienced with accountability to business partner with Finance executives
Serve as a thoughtful partner and actively challenge work to deploy the most comprehensive and creative solutions; remove barriers for team to ensure its ability to implement
GSS decision maker for Sourcing strategy and supplier selection impacting the ELMAC region
Lead supplier relationship management for critical suppliers in ELMAC
Identify and drive solutions to meet operating inefficiencies by understanding business needs
Managerial courage to provide performance strong feedback, anticipate potential risks that might impact Amgen Code of Conduct, take action to improve retention, attraction and make the GSS/ACCP a great place to work
Develop goals and prioritize team's work among multiple initiatives
Drive alignment between global category strategy with the needs and requirements of
ELMAC region, together with the Country Sourcing Managers
Bring Industry/business function-specific knowledge and experience
Customize sourcing activities and processes aiming to build a “plug-and-play” solution to backfill positions in case of parental leave, absence, etc
Provide guidance to shape the sourcing strategies of the team

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance/Fraud/Audit experience
Proven experience in Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Operations
Supplier Selection, Negotiation and/or Buying Outside Spend experience
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Strong leadership skills
Ability to take initiative and work with a minimum level of direction in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead projects and work with cross-functional teams
Experience with workday strategic sourcing or other e-Sourcing tools
