You will be responsible to:
The Sourcing Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring informed procurement decisions during the RFP2Bid and Cost Assessment Processes. This includes actively participating in Screening Meetings to assess potential supply constraints, mitigate risks, and ensure strategic and timeline alignment from the onset of new opportunities. Additionally, the role provides Procurement Support for New Product Introductions (NPI) by acting as a functional lead, integrating procurement activities seamlessly into NPI projects to support successful product launches. The Specialist will also leverage technical expertise in chemistry and chemical processes to optimize supplier selection, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and drive alignment between technical requirements and procurement strategies. This role will be critical in bridging the gap between technical teams and procurement, ensuring efficient project execution and the successful implementation of digital tools to optimize and support procurement activities
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Evaluation and Management:
Assess suppliers based on technical specifications and compliance with industry standards.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to support ongoing chemical sourcing needs.
Support the development of supplier qualification requirements and monitor adherence to GMP, REACH, and FDA guidelines.
Project Coordination and Technical Support:
Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Engineering teams to translate technical requirements into procurement plans.
Assist in the planning and execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring supplier capabilities are aligned with project timelines.
Operational Support for Digital Procurement Initiatives:
Support the implementation of eProcurement tools and systems to streamline procurement processes.
Utilize digital tools for process optimization, supplier management, and spend analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Change Management:
Act as a liaison between Procurement, Project Management, and Technical teams to ensure seamless communication and project alignment.
Facilitate change management initiatives related to procurement digitalization and process improvements.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze procurement and supply chain data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization.
Generate reports and presentations to inform stakeholders on project status and supplier performance.
We are looking to recruit a Candidate:
Qualifications and Skills:
Technical Qualifications:
University degree or master’s in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences or a related field (mandatory).
Strong understanding of chemical synthesis, production processes, and industry regulations (mandatory).
Preferred Experience:
3+ years in a technical role within procurement, supply chain, or a related field
Experience with supplier assessment and technical evaluations in the chemical industry.
Skills and Competencies:
Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex technical data and provide actionable insights.
Project Management: Basic project management skills to track deliverables and support project timelines.
Digital Proficiency: Familiarity with eProcurement systems and digital tools for supplier management.
Collaboration and Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Fluency in English is a requirement
Preferred but Not Mandatory:
Knowledge of procurement workflows, including RFP2Bid, cost assessment, and Source2Pay.
Experience with regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., FDA, REACH).
