Hyatt Assistant Restaurant Manager in LISBON, Portugal
Description:
We are looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our pre-opening team at Andaz Lisbon.
Expected to open in Q2 2025, Andaz Lisbon will offer guests an exciting new luxury lifestyle hotel in the Portuguese capital – and it will represent a key milestone in Hyatt’s continued brand growth in Southern Europe. Andaz Lisbon is set to become the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Lisbon. Located in the center of Lisbon’s bustling Baixa district and situated along the main pedestrian road, Rua Augusta, the hotel will be comprised of five separate buildings, including the former offices of one of the major banks in Portugal, Banco Português de Investimento (BPI). This central building of the hotel will offer 170 guestrooms, with the surrounding four satellite buildings of the hotel offering guests various private suites to choose from. This unique Urban Resort in the city center will allow guests to fully embrace the locale and experience authentic Lisbon.
About the role
As Assistant Restaurant Manager will be responsible to assist the Restaurant Manager with the efficient running of the department in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards, whilst meeting employee, guest and owner expectations. Responsible to assist the Restaurant Manager in managing the assigned outlet as a successful independent profit center, in line with the outlet’s operating concept and Hyatt International standards, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction while operating within budget, helping to ensure the financial success of the outlet, training, scheduling and managing the team of the outlet.
Qualifications:
Qualifications - External
Ideally with a degree or equivalent qualification
Relevant experience in a similar role
Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, including servers, bartenders, and supervisors
Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills to address issues with staff or service delivery
Strong focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences
Budget management, including monitoring costs, pricing strategies, and profit margins.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers
Quick decision-making in high-pressure environments, ensuring seamless service during busy times
Ability to manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee stock levels to ensure timely availability of items
