Job Summary:
Helps production workers and operators by performing duties requiring less expertise. Duties include supplying or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work areas and equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Loads and unloads items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.
Assists production operators.
Places products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping.
Examines products to verify conformance to quality standards.
Observes equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected, and notify operators of any malfunctions.
Lifts raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.
Adds desiccant, re-works labels, and counts items to put in bottles or bags.
Maintains good manufacturing processes.
Transfers finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas of plants and warehouses, by hand or using hand trucks or powered lift trucks.
Packs and stores materials and products.
Counts finished products to determine if product orders are complete.
Separates products according to weight, grade, size, or composition of materials used to produce them.
Dumps materials such as prepared ingredients into machine hoppers prior to mixing.
Ties products in bundles for further processing or shipment, following prescribed procedures.
Records information, such as the number of products tested, meter readings, or dates and times of product production.
Prepares raw materials for processing.
Washes work areas, machines, equipment, or products.
Follows instructions of line leads or supervisors as needed.
Packages finished products for storage, shipment, or distribution, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
Prepares shipping materials, such as crates, boxes, or pallets, and assists with loading and unloading shipments as needed.
Adheres to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, or incidents in the workplace.
Wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follows safety guidelines when handling hazardous materials or operating machinery.
Maintains a clean and organized work area by sweeping, mopping, or disposing of debris and waste m aterials.
Performs routine cleaning and maintenance tasks on equipment, tools, and workstations to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
Familiarity with quality and regulatory requirements for product development (e.g., FDA, EPA, GMP) a plus.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require occasional lifting of equipment or materials up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to navigate various departments of the rganization's physical premises.
Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
