Trihydro Corporation Associate Staff Geologist in Linden, New Jersey
Associate Staff Geologist - New Jersey, Western New York area Trihydro, one of the top environmental and engineering consulting firms in the country, has an opening for an Associate Staff Geologist. The ideal candidate will join our Industrial, Commercial and Energy Services business unit and assist in providing clients across many industries effective, responsive, and safe solutions. As a member of our team, you will support our diverse range of clients from Fortune 100 companies, to the federal government, to local communities nationwide to continuously improve human health and the environment.In your role, you will provide soil coring oversight, field support for soil and groundwater remediation implementation, soil and water sample collection, geologic log and cross section preparation, technical report preparation, project management assistance, data management and interpretation, and field and construction oversight/management. The position requires working at commercial and industrial site locations. This position will also involve preparation of environmental permits and plans. Mechanical aptitude, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic is required. GIS or CADD training is a plus. Applicants must have strong organizational skills and a demonstrated commitment to safe operations. This position is also responsible for the administration and stewardship of health and safety programs at active industrial sites and communicating with project management and client(s) concerning site activity. This position will require willingness to travel for field work (25 to 50% of work time may include travel). Applicants must have a clean driving record, good technical writing and Microsoft Office skills, and a commitment to safe operations. The preferred candidate would be home based in the New Jersey or New York area. As such, it is imperative that the candidate is self-motivated and can work independently. Required Qualifications •2-5+ years of relevant experience•A Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Geologic Engineering or similar; Master’s Degree preferred•Coursework, projects or internship experience in environmental subjects preferred•Willingness to obtain PG •Strong academic GPA and relevant thesis topic (if Master’s Degree obtained)•Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team members•Successful employment history with a commitment to safe work practices•Initiative and motivation, with an emphasis on completing project deliverables on schedule •Dependable, with the ability to work in a team environment•Ability to travel to client sites and other Trihydro offices•Ability to work in a range of weather conditions and longer days to complete field events•Ability to work independently •Strong interpersonal skills•Fluency with Microsoft Excel is mandatory. Salaries are based on candidates' experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.Summary pay range: $50,000 - $80,000 This position will remain open until a qualified candidate has been selected.This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week.
