Position Summary: Prepares and maintains accounting records, examines and analyzes the records for the purpose of financial statement preparation, reconciles accounts and prepares accruals, maintains up to date fixed asset schedules, assists with various audits and filings to federal and state agencies

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for full cycle accounting for a portfolio of facilities:

  • Booking required accruals

  • Booking prepaid and amortizing as required

  • Account reconciliations

  • Managing Fixed asset additions & depreciation

  • Preparing the Income Statement and balance sheet

  • Variance Analysis

  • Provides detail analysis and ad hoc reporting related to the financials for operations

  • Assist in compiling a financial package by facilities with variance analysis

  • Communicate with operations to help them understand financial variances

  • Posts adjusting journal entries provided by A/R manager to properly track/reconcile current year revenue/census against prior periods

  • Updates Fixed Asset schedules for all operations on a monthly/quarterly basis

  • Assists in gathering of all required documentation to obtain replacement reserve reimbursements from HUD

  • Reconciles revenue (financial and statistical) accounts b/w accounting and A/R systems

  • Prepares capital improvement files for the auditors to assist with the annual capital report filings with the State

  • Maintains accounting records in accordance with the standard process and assures their timely filing in the storage facility

  • All other duties as assigned

    Requirements

Job/Technical Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Great plains is an asset

  • Experience with accounting for skilled nursing facility is an asset

  • 1-5 years general accounting experience

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills
