Residential Appliance Repair Technician

Position Overview: American Dix Appliance Service Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Residential Appliance Repair Technician. If you have a passion for providing exceptional customer service and possess strong mechanical aptitude, this is an exciting opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Appliance Repair: Efficiently repair and maintain residential washing machines, clothes dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, ranges, and microwave ovens.
• Customer Service: Deliver excellent customer service by addressing client concerns professionally, providing clear explanations of issues, and outlining required repairs.
• Diagnostic Skills: Accurately diagnose appliance problems and determine effective repair solutions.
• Performance Goals: Meet or exceed performance metrics and productivity goals set by the company.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of services performed, including parts used and time spent. Utilize computer systems for parts ordering and service documentation.
• Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure safe and effective repairs.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in appliance repair or a related field. Experience with a wide range of appliances is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of tools and diagnostic equipment. Strong mechanical and electrical skills with the ability to perform accurate and efficient repairs.
• Customer Relations: Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear explanations and solutions to customers.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work variable hours, including overtime if required.
• Driver's License: A valid Michigan driver's license is required.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy appliances (up to 100 lbs) and work in various conditions.
• Drug Testing and Background Check: Must submit to drug testing and background check to meet customer requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional Training: Certification or additional training in appliance repair is a plus.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills for parts inquiries and documentation are preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Compensation: Competitive wages based on experience, ranging from $18.00 to $30.00 per hour.
• Benefits:
  • Five (5) paid personal days after 30 days of employment.
  • Five (5) paid vacation days and six (6) paid holidays upon completion of one (1) year of employment.
  • Service vans and fuel provided. You will need to provide basic tools and a meter for your daily assignments.
