job summary:

We are seeking a Sr. Software Developer Representative to join our client's IT team in the Lincoln, NE office. The role we are hiring for at this time is a full stack (both front end and back end) lead web developer/architect, providing guidance to 5 other .NET developers who will provide full life-cycle development for software applications.

responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • As technical lead, guides the product development team throughout the software application development lifecycle (designing solutions, writing code, conducting code reviews, testing, deploying code, and maintenance and operation) to support and enhance existing solutions with our client.

  • Builds or modifies the product's continuous integration and continuous deployment pipeline as needed, working on the most complex projects with limited guidance, and ensures it is as robust and automated as possible.

  • Employs best practices for secure code development when writing new features and functionality.

  • Ensures software development best practices are followed by the product development team.

  • Reviews/Writes test automation. Ensures all areas of the product are covered by the appropriate level of automated tests.

  • Works with business partners and the development team to understand business priorities that drive product features and support the creation of release plans, forecasting, and estimates.

  • Identifies and employs new technical capabilities relevant to team/products.

  • Ensures product documentation and technical stack are as current as possible and proactively maintained.

  • Mentors and leads the technical team and ensures the team is appropriately trained on relevant technologies and practices.

  • Leads the team with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Provides on-call support as necessary.

  • Responsible for the proper security and disposal of any confidential information that he or she may possess while performing this position's job duties

Experience and Certifications Required:

  • 8+ Years Development: Design, implementation, test, and support of software applications. Work on a product team utilizing agile techniques.

  • 8-10 Years Back-End: Design and implementation of server-side functionality and APIs. Preferred: C#, ASP.NET.

  • 8-10 Years User Interface: Design and implementation of user interface using modern framework. Preferred: Blazor.

  • Database: Design, implementation and support of database solutions using relational and document database tools and services. Preferred: Microsoft SQL Server, AWS RDS-SQL.

  • DevOps: Setup and support of continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines. Preferred: TeamCity, AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild/CodeDeploy.

  • Testing: Automated test design and implementation.

  • Leadership: Leading others in the development and deployment of complex projects

  • Cloud: Design and implementation of applications using cloud technologies. Support migration of enterprise applications into a cloud environment. Preferred: AWS services (CloudFormation, EC2, Lambda, API Gateway)

  • Security: Evaluation, recommendation and utilization of application and data security frameworks and best practices including data encryption, API security, web server security, and identity and access management.

  • Patterns and Practices: Familiarity with and ability to leverage dependency injection/inversion of control and of the S.O.L.I.D. principles of software development. Passion for promoting reliance on these patterns within the team.

  • Professional certifications in the following areas: cloud services, architecture, security, and DevSecOps

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Industry (a plus): Familiarity with trade associations, insurance, healthcare, and financial industry.

  • Ability to take action to ensure customer satisfaction, interpersonal skills, excellent analytical thinking, and an ability to problem solve and adapt to change.

  • Demonstrates careful attention to detail and thorough documentation skills.

  • Experience with project management concepts and aid ScrumMaster with coordination of development resources and delivery timelines.

  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse membership, employees and/or vendors in a clear and precise manner.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) and to operate various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, printer, fax machine or other job-related equipment.

  • Ability to provide service excellence by building relationships, being resourceful, responsive and respectful.

  • Ability to report to the office when required.
