We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Social Media Intern to join our corporate recruiting team and assist in executing our social media strategies highlighting career opportunities within Nelnet. As a Social Media Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing various social media platforms, creating engaging content, and interacting with our online community.

This internship offers valuable experience in social media marketing and provides an opportunity to contribute to real-world projects while working closely with experienced professionals in the field.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in managing and updating our social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Handshake).

  2. Create and curate engaging content for social media platforms, including posts, images, videos, and stories.

  3. Monitor social media channels for trending topics, news, and relevant conversations.

  4. Engage with our audience by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely manner.

  5. Collaborate with our recruiting teams to develop social media campaigns and promotions.

  6. Conduct research on industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.

  7. Assist in tracking and analyzing social media metrics to measure the success of campaigns and identify areas for improvement.

  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  1. Currently enrolled in a degree program in marketing, communications, human resources, or a related field.

  2. Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences.

  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  4. Creative thinking and the ability to generate engaging content.

  5. Experience using social media management tools is a plus.

  6. Basic knowledge of analytics tools to track and measure social media performance is a plus.

  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  8. Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
