WSP are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Assistant Engineer to join the Roads team based in Limerick or Dublin.

The role would be based in a modern road design office in Limerick and covers an interesting and varied workload – undertaking preliminary and detailed designs for major national Road schemes including the N/M20 Cork to Limerick Road Improvement Scheme and local authority transport improvements across Ireland including Cork BusConnects and various Active Travel schemes.

Your role will be at the heart of our high performing team, using your technical skills and expertise to help us continue driving forward in terms of both technical quality and service efficiency.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • The delivery of road projects and services for Central Government Authorities, Local Authorities and other public/private sector clients.

  • Supporting Senior Engineer/Team Leader with the development of designs using MX, Civil3D and AutoCAD

  • Liaison with stakeholders including landowners and updating consultation management database systems

  • Assisting the Team Leader guiding, supervising and directing junior team members in technical and project management matters to ensure the effective delivery of projects whilst aiding the technical/professional development of the team.

  • Relevant Engineering qualification (Level 8) and relevant post qualification experience (minimum 18 months).

  • Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status. Member of an appropriate Institution.

  • Ability to work under minimum supervision, or as part of a larger delivery team, on complex projects in a CAD/BIM environment.

  • Adept in the use of AutoCAD and aptitude to further develop in MX/Civils3D/GIS including the use of BIM.

  • Experience of dealing with stakeholders including landowners and ability to record all consultations

  • Accurate record keeping and excellent attention to detail
