The Lima Family YMCA in Lima, OH is seeking Welcome Center Staff members to join our team.

  • We are looking for applicants who are available to work approximately 20-25 hours per week
  • Evenings: 12pm-8pm, 2-10pm
  • And Weekends

Pay Rate:  $11.00 per hour

General Function:

Under the direction of the Vice President, the welcome center staff member is responsible for informing and serving YMCA members and patrons according to YMCA policies and procedures, and exhibiting the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the Lima Family YMCA.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate, or in process of acquiring
  • Reliable transportation to attend work
  • Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • Interested in contributing to the mission of the YMCA
  • Outgoing personality and strong customer service skills

Essential Functions:

Greet all members and visitors with a smile and a personal greeting.  Employ effective sales/customer relations techniques

Properly perform switchboard operations as required, including; answering all calls on or before the third ring, providing standard information in response to inquiries, transferring all calls to the proper extension

Consistently use the facility access system to scan all membership data cards or enter forgotten card information for all members

Check program participant's cards to assure that the card is current

Answer membership/program inquiries, explain membership enrollment information and complete membership applications and related record keeping as necessary

Maintain membership records and logs following Reception Center Policy

Uphold and exemplify the principles of the YMCA Exceeding Expectations Program

Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Employees are held responsible for the duties of the job

Responsible for strict adherence to all branch/department policies and procedures related to safety and conduct rules and other regulations
