Description of Job:
Primarily responsible for inventory, preparation & shipment of research samples, including hazardous & non-hazardous samples, and GLP samples. Effectively utilizes SAP for managing shipping & inventory from commercial storage (A-Z, Iowa & others). Cross functional communication and interaction with various functions including regulatory, customer service, supply chain, etc. and others as required. Performs monthly inventory reconciliation and Creates DOs for outside 3rd party warehouses. Manage relationships and working arrangements with various freight services, including international freight forwarders and domestic shipping services. Coordinates the importing of samples worldwide for research and testing. Follows all rules and regulations with US Customs. Works with Regulatory to provide annual establishment reports for the BRC and SWABE. Organizes research & GLP inventory in an orderly manner, in compliance with all state & federal hazardous storage regulations, and in compliance with GLP procedures.
Principal Responsibilities:
Fills product shipping orders from Field R&D inventory, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
Assists R&D with the shipment of research samples
Ships GLP product orders & maintains required records for chain of custody
Ensures accuracy of field R&D and GLP sample inventory systems
Places orders to obtain inventory items as needed from internal warehousing
Ships hazardous samples as needed
Handles international documentation and shipping for R&D imports and exports.
Filing of EPA NOA for all imports for Active Ingredients for manufacturing and samples for R&D
Processes logistics transactions in SAP accurately and in a timely manner, including processing delivery orders, post-goods, BOL issuance and associated maintenance of assigned SAP transactions.
Maintains all required certifications needed for legal & regulatory compliance, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods via Air, Ground, and IMDG, Classifying & Removing Waste, and GLP Procedures.
Goods receipt and proper disposition of materials to respective parties within the Biorational Research Center (BRC).
Maintaining appropriate stocking levels within BRC stockroom.
Coordinates calibration of lab equipment.
Creates requisitions to support the requirements of R&D for goods & services.
Small parcel data analysis and tracking.
Experience: Current/obtain certification in the Transportation Of Dangerous Goods in accordance with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization, and the U.S. Department of Transportation 49 CFR. Current Certification for handling Hazardous Waste is required. Knowledge of US Customs import export rules and regulations. EPA NOA FIFRA rules for submission for entry into the US for Samples and active ingredients. Knowledge of international transportation and logistics. Familiar with SAP, experience with small parcel shipments (International/Domestic). Experienced in using Microsoft office. Demonstrated organizational, communication and time management skills.
Education: College degree preferred, or High School Diploma or equivalent in addition to 2-5 years’ experience in shipping and receiving.
