Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Libertyville, Illinois

Shift:

  • 2 Night Shift Positions: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Rotating Schedule)

  • 1 Day Shift Position: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Rotating Schedule)

Pay: Up to $39/hr

Job Description

We are seeking skilled Maintenance Mechanics to join our dynamic team. With three positions open, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems will be highly valued. Welding and fabricating experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on injection mold machinery and other shop equipment.

  • Conduct inspections and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.

  • Support and maintain all company policies, including ISO Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.

  • Install and perform preventative maintenance on injection molding machines and equipment such as closing machines and feeder bowls.

  • Recondition used equipment.

  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, automation, vision, and electrical systems on injection molding machines to ensure continuous production.

  • Take out of service any machine or equipment that is deemed unsafe or that would further deteriorate with continued use.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Familiarity with automation and vision systems.

  • Troubleshooting experience.

  • Knowledge of injection molding machine functions and controls.

  • Hydraulic experience.

  • Preventative maintenance expertise.

  • Basic welding and fabricating skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.

  • English required; Spanish preferred.

Work Environment

  • This role operates in a manufacturing environment with some exposure to an office environment.

  • The position frequently requires sitting, talking, or hearing, and using hands to handle objects or controls.

  • Regularly, the employee is required to stand and walk, and occasionally stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • The work environment may require lifting up to 35 lbs, standing or walking for long periods, and climbing short ladders to access utility mezzanines.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $65000.00

benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, 401(k) Retirement Plan, and other benefit programs for eligible employees. You are eligible to participate in some benefits immediately upon hire while others may require

a waiting period for eligibility. In addition, some benefits are paid for by the company while others may require you to contribute. Enclosed you will find a detailed benefits brochure outlining the various benefit options available to you at Berry Global.

On your first day of employment, you will be given further instructions regarding the benefits election process.

You will be eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) plan on the first day of the month following three months of service if you work at least 250 hours in your first three months of employment. This benefit plan provides for retirement savings through employee contributions and a company matching contribution. You can enroll in the Plan at the start of the month following three full months from your hire date.
