This individual will run all planning and deployment aspects of customer projects in a particular geographic area with focus on one or more clients. The Program Manager may be the principal customer liaison and must be able to manage concurrent projects adeptly. The Program Manager must have the ability to work autonomously and remotely to perform initial project planning, manage customer relationships during pilot and rollout efforts, support customer post-deployment as needed, and supervise Itron network installations. The Program Manager will also be responsible for managing customer issues and coordinating customer training during the installation timeframe and prepare hand-off plans to customer at the conclusion of the deployment. The Project Manager will be called upon to interface with internal customers (Sales, Marketing and Product Development organizations in particular) on product and systems improvements or upsell opportunities. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Supervise on-going project deployment activities and participate as needed in all phases of deployment of a project. Deployments vary in scope and may include multiple, parallel implementations requiring coordination of various teams from Itron, contractors and the customer, including but not limited to field (RF) engineers, IT staff, supply chain, contracting and finance staff. Day to day engagement with the implementation team across various disciplines Status reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Document and communicate all project issues, potential solutions and recommended actions to the Regional Client Delivery Executive. Issue and risk management through well-defined project control processes Complete program financial ownership Implementation schedule management Responsible for team meetings, document follow-up activities, coordinate action items Documentation of project goals, actions and as-completed materials, and all contracted reports as outlined in each project's deliverables list. Develop opportunities for program expansion and growth Drive Itron and partner marketing channel success Interface with customer and contractor installation teams during installation. Work with and support outside contractors and customer installers to ensure project deployment timeliness and quality. Must be knowledgeable of project scope and contract requirements, customer union contracts (if applicable), training programs, local and national rules and local radio frequency regulations related to project activities. Requirements: Required: This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience implementing and managing direct large scale, multi-phase projects/programs across all aspects of the cross-functional team. Preferred: A minimum of 5 years of deployment of telecommunications networks (preferably wireless) and/or enterprise scale software systems and/or expertise implementing Utility products and services (preferably Automated Metering Infrastructure/AMI). Skills: Demonstrated leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be able to describe multiple business situations where these skills were leveraged. Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and concurrent projects. Itron's networks are in great demand and the PM must be able to coordinate multiple projects in varying degrees of deployment. Experience in personal computer operations and use of word processing, project management, spreadsheet programs plus experience with off-the-shelf and special-purpose test programs.
