POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position supports the Tomahawk Recertification Product Team Lead (IPTL) and the All-Up-Round (AUR) Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE). The primary responsibilities of the position will be to execute APMSE duties in support of the Tomahawk AUR Recertification, an ACAT 2 program, to include leading all Tomahawk AUR recertification engineering activities across multiple sites. The Tomahawk Recertification program is focused on the induction of previously fielded Tomahawk missiles, recertifying them, and re-fielding them for fleet use. On a regular basis the engineer coordinates, informs, and communicates efforts with various competencies, IPT members, contractors, subcontractors, and naval field activities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Resolving recertification related engineering issues,
Providing technical support for Request for Proposal (RFP) generation to support future recertification efforts,
Developing and reviewing Engineering Change Proposals (ECP),
Coordinating with NAVAIR Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Prime Contractor representatives for engineering solutions for recertification related issues,
Addressing obsolescence and service life related issues,
Reviewing & approving contractor data deliverables,
Addressing identified system deficiencies,
Developing/updating system interface control documents (ICDs),
Conducting Engineering Investigations (EI),
Addressing integration issues with other TWS segments,
Assisting in test planning and resolving deficiencies encountered,
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:
- Position requires semi-frequent travel (CONUS) as needed to support various working groups. Not to exceed 40 hours per month (one week).
Requirements
EXPERIENCE:
- At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position. Demonstrated knowledge in an area of engineering expertise is required.
Highly desired:
Team assignment progression of increasing responsibility involving direct interaction with program/project office & engineering disciplines in application of systems engineering, safety, airworthiness, acquisition, and program management processes,
Multiple team leadership roles leading multi-discipline teams,
3 to 5 years of proven sustained performance in a relevant subsystem SE (i.e. APMSE) role,
3 to 5 years of relevant Naval Aviation experience in an engineering discipline,
APMSE rotational assignments.
EDUCATION:
MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related engineering discipline.
Allowable Substitution:BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted for a MS or MA degree. These four (4) years of experience are in addition to the required minimum of ten (10) years to meet the experience requirement, requiring a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.
SECURITY:
Active TS//SCI clearance with current background investigation is desired.
At minimum, Active Top-Secret clearance with current background investigation is required.

Salary Description
$161,843.00 - $209,101.00 depending on experience
