Position Overview:

Join Siemens Rolling Stock in Lexington, NC as a Quality Assurance Manager and become an integral part of our operations. The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager oversees a team of QA Supervisors and Inspectors responsible for all stages of rail car manufacturing, including welding, mechanical assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, testing, and painting. Key responsibilities include developing best practice standards, ensuring comprehensive team training, promoting a quality-focused culture, managing non-conformance reporting, and executing competence and training systems. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. Ensure all Team Members are trained in, and observe, safe work practices.

  • Ensure development and documentation of best practice work standards and ensure all team members are properly trained for their assigned tasks.

  • Plan production operations, define workflow, and establish priorities and production sequences to meet project and interdepartmental requirements.

  • Develop, monitor and meet department budgets and business plans.

  • Establish, monitor, and adjust manpower and applicable equipment planning to meet production demands.

  • Drive lean manufacturing and 5S principles and initiatives to eliminate waste.

  • Ensure positive communication with entire team on a regular basis to keep them informed of work status, department performance, process changes, and company policies.

  • Develop and implement measures to improve production efficiency, equipment performance, and product quality.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.

  • experience in managing quality processes for complex equipment assembly, welding, and electromechanical assembly in the past 10 years

  • experience in OEM capital equipment manufacturing, specifically in a schedule-driven, high-mix/low-volume, engineer-to-order, project-based environment in the last 10 years

  • Proficient in Lean manufacturing principles.

  • Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Effective leader with strong skills in motivating teams and fostering professional relationships.

  • Excellent in coaching, problem-solving, and communication.

  • Collaborative team player adept at resolving complex issues.

This career is based in Lexington, NC. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The base salary range for this position in North Carolina is $144,200 to $195,100 and the annual incentive target is 15% of the base salary. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
