Novo Nordisk Internship - Data Scientist in Lexington, Massachusetts

The Program

At Novo Nordisk, interns will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced industry professionals and gain valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience. For ten working weeks, in-terns will be immersed in the environment of a global pharmaceutical company and contribute to the line of business by providing sustainable and meaningful project work. Our internship pro-gram also includes instructor led trainings, a leadership engagement series, and a guided mentorship program to offer professional and personal development.

Program Start: June 2nd, 2025

Program End: August 15th, 2025

Scope of Position

In this position, the intern will be part of a collaborative data science team, and will work on ana-lyzing/visualizing and/or developing algorithms on wearable and digital devices data.

With inputs and guidance from his/her daily supervisor, the intern will use Python to develop sig-nal processing and machine learning algorithms and/or analyze and visualize data related to wearable devices (e.g. actigraphy device) and time series signals (e.g. ECG data). In his/her work, the intern will use tools like DataBricks for development, Azure Devops for code versioning and agile project management. The intern will meet regularly with his/her supervisor, prepare and give regular presentations on his/her work progress to the supervisor and the rest of the team. Our team is highly collaborative, so the intern will participate in regular team meetings and may collaborate with the rest of the team on items that facilitate his/her work.

Qualifications

  • Must be a current student enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree

  • An in progress doctoral degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred

  • Strong academic record with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, must be able to multi-task

  • Strong interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with teams; must effective-ly operate independently, across functional lines, and with internal customers

  • Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
