The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital located in the heart of the Bluegrass, Lexington, KY. The Ridge provides psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. The Ridge offers Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Programs, Individual Counseling, as well as Medication Management for all ages. We have provided behavioral health services to over 92 Kentucky counties for more than 39 years.

Mental Health Technicians provide routine non-acute physical care for the patient as well as educational groups based on needs identified in the Master Treatment Plan.The Lead MHT conducts patient groups and manages the unit milieu and ensures that the unit program is competently delivered by the MHT staff. Participates in ensuring the efficient functioning of the therapeutic milieu along with the Program Supervisor through developing both immediate and ongoing strategies to maintain the therapeutic milieu. Conducts clinical supervision audits as directed by the Nurse Manager and ensures that the unit program structure is followed by patients and staff. Consistently communications with the Registered Nurses on shift, Nurse Manager, and the Program Supervisor and provides on-going milieu management training as needed to nursing staff (MHTs/LPNs/RNs). Third shift position ensures all units are stocked with programming materials, nursing care supplies, forms etc. Follows and abides by company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role and responsibilities.

Job Duties Include:

  • Assists with assessing program materials for appropriate clinical content based on patient needs.

  • Assists with training unit staff on program materials group dynamics and techniques.

  • Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns.

    Qualifications

    Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.

    Experience

  • One year experience at The Ridge.

  • Two years relevant behavioral health experience may be accepted in lieu of experience at The Ridge.

  • Inpatient psych experience preferred

    Certifications/Licensure

  • Crisis intervention certification required. This training also offered upon hire.

  • CPR

    Other Skills

  • Written and oral communication skills.

  • Skills in time management.

  • Skills in maintaining information as highly confidential.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to treat all age populations as needed or have the capacity to develop skills through orientation program.

  • Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation
