Description
We are offering a contract for a permanent position for a skilled Bookkeeper in Lexington, Kentucky. This role will involve a range of responsibilities from overseeing accounting operations to managing fixed asset lists for depreciation purposes. Working within the industry, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient financial management.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee accounting operations to ensure transactions are posted correctly and accurately.
• Manage accounts payable, including vendors, subcontractors, truck loans, and credit card receipts.
• Oversee accounts receivable and ensure prompt and accurate payment.
• Perform double entry bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records.
• Close the prior month's accounts by the 15th of the current month.
• Keep business licenses up to date in all the counties we operate in.
• Manage occupational taxes in all the counties we operate in.
• Coordinate the preparation of tax documents at the end of each year.
• Prepare yearly P& L budgets and provide financial forecasting.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage large orders of raw material for job allocation.
• Manage fixed asset list for depreciation purposes.
• Collaborate with the payroll department, the company's CPA, and occasionally with Project Managers.
Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP), including invoice processing and vendor payments.
• Capability in handling Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition.
• Skilled in performing Bank Reconciliations to verify the company's records match the bank's records.
• Proven experience in Bookkeeping, maintaining accurate financial records for the company.
• Proficient in Data Entry, ensuring quick and accurate transfer of information into the company's system.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and complex formulas.
• Experience in Month End Close processes, ensuring all financial data is recorded and reconciled for the reporting period.
• Proficiency in managing Payroll, including processing paychecks, tax filings, and employee benefits administration.
• Advanced skills in QuickBooks, managing all financial transactions and reporting within the platform.
