About the Opportunity:

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [PN] This position is on-site. Under general supervision, an employee in this position is expected to perform a variety of duties in accordance with the Company's customer service policies to encourage the collection of delinquent accounts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Adheres to all safety rules and guidelines as established by the Company. Communicates effectively with customers regarding delinquent account balances, provides information on payment arrangements in accordance with the Company's customer service policies and where applicable, disconnects/or reconnects the electric service. Initiates customer referrals to Customer Assistance & Referral Evaluation Services (CARES) representatives for counseling, payment assistance and regulatory/Company programs. Maintains, complies and balances daily customer transactions and adheres to the documented cash handling procedures. Verifies the accuracy of data entered on checks and stubs, prepares cash handling forms and forwards to appropriate personnel for processing. Documents and informs supervision of adverse safety conditions regarding meters, meter sockets, electric services and lines, meter tampering and like conditions. Trains and instructs other employees as required. Performs other related or less skilled work as required or directed, including the operation of transportation equipment upon occasion or in the event of an emergency.

Qualifications include: Position requires valid Driver's License Must successfully complete Edison Electric Institute support and administration (SASS) test Must maintain the performance standards established by the Revenue Operations department. Must be physically able to safely perform all duties associated with this position; including, but not limited to, travel to and from vehicle and/or meter site to read meter and/or disconnect/reconnect service. Must have basic knowledge of the Customer Services credit policies and procedures, and PUC rules and regulations. Must have basic knowledge of the SAP Dunning system and other computer programs (i.e., Word; Excel; Lotus Notes). Must have demonstrated communication and human relations' skills through previous work assignments, which includes both written and oral, by handling customer inquiries in accordance with the customer service standards. Must have demonstrated skill to read and comprehend policies, procedures, and other information. Must have skill in organizing work to meet established deadlines. Must be willing to work scheduled hours, which may be non-standard business hours, and available for emergency call-ins as needed to allow greater ability to communicate with customers and maximize the opportunity to increase the regional revenue colle ted as determined by supervision. The individual awarded this position will be given a period not to exceed four (4) months to establish a residence within a reasonable response time of 40 minutes of the Lewistown Service Center.
