Central Maine Medical Center's (CMMC) well-established and high-volume Gastroenterology group is actively seeking a BE/BC full-time Gastroenterologist with Advanced Endoscopy training or Hepatology training to join our growing practice in Lewiston, Maine.

Opportunity to practice Advanced Endoscopy is available but not required.

Join a collaborative and vibrant team of five Gastroenterologists serving a population of 400,000 people. We are seeking a compassionate physician. At CMMC, we offer a collegial work environment and competitive compensation and benefits package with generous paid time off.

  • Call will be shared with the other Gastroenterologists

  • Collegial team-oriented medical group with a robust Surgical, Radiology, and Pathology programs.

  • Exceptional anesthesia support, all endoscopic procedures are done under MAC or GA.

  • Spacious Endoscopy suite with up to 10 procedure rooms and adequate recovery space with excellent nursing and tech support.

  • Excellent APS team supporting inpatient consults and follow ups.

  • Outpatient office work supported by a dedicated team of Medical Assistants, Front Desk Staff, Schedulers and APS staff.

  • J-1 Visa sponsorship available

We would like to recruit as soon as possible, however we are willing to wait for the right candidate till 2024.

Successful candidates will be board eligible or board certified in Gastroenterology.

Our health system, which consists of a 250-bed facility in Lewiston and Critical Access Hospitals in both Bridgton and Rumford, employs 400+ providers throughout a wide range of medical and surgical services, with 50% being primary care providers. We place great emphasis on quality and safety, leading to CMMC being recognized with an "A" Leapfrog rating in 2018. Additionally, both Bridgton Hospital and Rumford Hospital were recognized as 2018 Top Rural Hospitals by The Leapfrog Group.The primary endoscopy and biliary suite is a state-of-the-art facility with 10 procedure rooms, which include ERCP and EUS capabilities, with future expansion plans. The group's skilled support team also includes 100% monitored anesthesia for procedures and an on-site office. Last year, the gastroenterology group performed 8,500 procedures in this facility.Central Maine Healthcare features a strong hospitalist admitting service and is currently building an inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (APP) service. There are also ample opportunities for an independent off-campus satellite practice with endoscopy.The primary endoscopy suite is a state-of-the-art facility with 9 procedure rooms, which include ERCP and EUS capabilities.

The business district of the town is located on “The Island” located between the Androscoggin River and the canals.
