JOB TITLE: OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT TRAINEE

Open positions in the following locations. Stilwell, OK - Hogansville, GA - Lewisburg, TN – Montgomery, AL - Guthrie, KY - Chester, VA and Fayetteville, TN

**Candidates are required to travel up to 75%. Minimum training is 24 months.

*Willingness to relocate after training will fast track promotions.

*Upon successful completion of training the candidate will be placed into an operations management role.

Starting Salary: $60,000-$70,000/yr

REPORTS TO: Operations Director and training location Plant Manager

JOB PURPOSE: Conner Industries desires to fully immerse an individual into our organization. We expect to train them to be able to fully understand the concepts and application of processes to successfully be an Operations expert within our company. Our goal is to develop excellent long term managers.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred.

  • Experience in production or manufacturing environment is desired but not required.

  • Mechanically inclined and skilled with hand tools.

  • Analytical thinker with a strong basis on data gathering and analysis.

  • Energetic, organized and ability to manage a wide range of projects and priorities.

  • Excellent communicator and understanding of importance to ‘do what you say’.

  • Strong computer skills with experience in the Microsoft Office suite.

  • Availability to travel up to 75% of time in the training program.

TRAINING DISCIPLINES

  • Through our structured, hands-on learning program immersed in the operation, we’ll teach you how to increase financial profitability, maximize operational efficiency, improve customer satisfaction and lead teams of people. After completing training, you will supervise one or more of the daily operations to ensure maximization of equipment, customer satisfaction and employee management.

  • You’ll continue to work closely with managers and mentors who will teach you all of the skills you’ll need to grow and advance your career at Conner Industries.

  • First level - Safety You will learn how to build a safe work culture focused on diligence to best practices and good housekeeping.

  • Second level - Quality You will learn how to build a quality culture driven to meet and exceed customer expectations.

  • Third level - Human Resources You will learn how to hire, and hold employees accountable, oversee staffing, training, employee development, and ensuring compliance to company policies.

  • Fourth level - Shipping/Receiving Using the ERP (enterprise resource planning) system you will learn how to enter and receive purchase orders, receive in lumber, dispatch trucks, and managing the plant fleet.

  • Fifth level - Maintenance Using a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) you will enter break down work orders, preventative maintenance work orders ensuring good working order of all equipment, and site facilities, schedule work to be completed by the plant maintenance team.

  • Sixth level - Production Using the ERP system you will learn how to schedule orders, process orders on the floor, and complete orders. Additionally you will learn how to run the orders on the floor and lead the production team, as well as managing the company assets on site.

  • Seventh level - Continuous Improvement You will learn methodologies utilizing lean manufacturing techniques.

  • *Upon successful completion of the training program, employee will be promoted to an Operations Management role.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & ATTRIBUTES

  • Lumber remanufacturing facility with cutting and assembly equipment.

  • Indoor office area with outdoor production and lumber yard management.

  • Hearing protection, eyewear and steel-toed shoes required.

  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Travel is expected, including possible customer visits.
