Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Industry Specialist with extensive experience in the Industrial Machinery sector and a strong background in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to join our dynamic team. As an Industry Specialist, you will leverage your deep knowledge of industrial machinery and expertise in FEA to provide technical guidance, support, and innovative solutions to our customers and internal teams, while also defining the mechanical business strategy for industrial machinery. Your role will additionally involve collaborating with product management, feeding back input from customers and the sales teams to enhance the Simcenter Mechanical Portfolio. The individual will be based out of EMEA but will have a global focus supporting the different regions.
The Mechanical Business Development team helps develop solutions to customer problems by working closely with the Simcenter Industry Team to create and capture customer value. This involves working with the sales, marketing, and product management teams, as well as senior management. In addition, the team supports customer engagements to drive the business forward.
Key performance indicators for the position include revenue growth within the different industries and the development and execution of a strategic business plan for the Mechanical domain.
Responsibilities
Supporting the sales and marketing teams to drive business for Simcenter Mechanical within the Industrial Machinery Industry. This includes:
Define and execute an agreed business plan.
Align the plan with the industry manager, all solution domains, and product management.
Get buy-in from the broader Siemens software organization, especially within the Siemens software sales, and marketing teams.
Developing sales and marketing collateral in support of the Mechanical Domain, including things like industry sales initiatives, aligned with Industry strategy and Digital Threads.
Collaborate outside of the team with members of the Simcenter Industries / Business development teams.
Training the sales team through regular enablement sessions.
Visiting and presenting to Industry customers at dedicated events, both internal and external.
Work with strategic customers and position Siemens in higher management engagements as a digitalization partner.
Bring value by identifying and quantifying market opportunities and how to realize them (e.g., internal investment or looking for external solutions: buy, build, or partner). This involves:
Identify and quantify market opportunities as a guidance to Product and Industry management.
Apply the existing capabilities of the Simcenter Mechanical Domain toolset (Simcenter 3D, Simcenter FEMAP) to complete applications and solutions for current and future challenges in the respective industries.
Engage with the Application Specialist team to develop new solutions to customers' problems.
Working with Siemens DISW Industry teams and Academic Partners to identify and validate mid to long-term needs.
Working with Product Management to define input to product roadmaps.
Identify synergies across the different solution domains and other opportunities to grow the respective industries.
Required skills:
Proven experience in a sales or business development role.
Validated experience in the Machinery Industry.
Completed studies in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics or equivalent.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English language, other languages beneficial).
Capability to work in an open, collaborative team, with a focus on excellence.
Demonstrate strategic business planning experience (able to develop and drive long-term business plans).
Willingness to travel globally up to 30%.
Preferred Skills:
Background in the use of Mechanical simulation, such as 3D Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), Finite Element Analysis, and/or Multiphysics simulation.
Completed professional Sales Training
Experience with Challenger Sales approach.
Member of Industry relevant associations or professional societies, presented at their conferences on mechanical-related topics
Location: Spain, France, Italy, Belgium or The Netherlands.
