As the Statutory Finance Senior Director, you will have a key role within the Optum network and be based in Ireland. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Statutory Finance Snr. Director to oversee our statutory reporting requirements in Ireland. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and managing audits within the Irish financial and regulatory frameworks. This role is critical to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements and compliance with all relevant regulations in Ireland. In this position you will be responsible for legal entity accounting and statutory finance operations. You will be part of a team of finance professionals and report to a senior finance executive.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Coordinates and oversee the preparation and submission of accurate and timely statutory financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS requirements

• Manages the process for filing reports, liaising with internal stakeholders and external auditors to ensure timely submission

• Oversees the preparation of accounting memos, and documentation related to technical accounting considerations and transactions including quarterly financial summary data for management

• Helps prepare internal and external financial statements to support corporate financial reporting requirements as well as local authority documents

• Stays current with changes in Irish statutory finance and accounting standards and regulations; designs and implements necessary updates to policies and procedures.

• Works closely with Optum U.S. finance leadership to implement consistent policies and standards across the new service lines and with modifications required by local regulations

• Participates in monthly/quarterly/year-end close activities, including financial statement consolidations, and intercompany reconciliations

• Coordinate the review of financial and accounting documents by management, legal counsel and independent auditors

• Support internal and external audit engagements, providing necessary documentation and facilitating audit processes

• Coordinate with international subsidiaries for filings and financial reporting, ensuring consistency and accuracy across entities

• Perform other duties as assigned to support the financial operations of the organization

Required Qualifications

• Previous extensive experience in accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and statutory requirements (or Master’s degree or professional certification equivalent (e.g., ACA, ACCA))

• Big 4 / Multi-national experience

• Strong technical accounting research skills and proficiency in financial reporting concepts

• Excellent project management, organization, and communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

• Understanding and ability to differentiate key statutory and management concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Ability to interpret and implement emerging accounting standards and regulations

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Familiarity with international accounting standards and practices

• Proficiency in financial reporting systems and tools

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
