OptumRx is looking for a curious and self-motivated individual to identify and develop strategies that leverage the full breadth of Optum assets to solve healthcare’s biggest challenges in pharmacy services. This role will be responsible for understanding the needs of industry partners and developing business solutions using the data and capabilities of Optum. We are looking for people that can collaborate with business partners, anticipate future industry needs, and have strong financial acumen.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Apply experience to lead negotiations with pharmacies in the US
• Assure optimal value and mitigation of risk to drive goals and achieve metrics on behalf of OptumRX and its clients.
• Facilitate contract strategy for value-based agreements, and innovative partnership strategies.
• Evaluates and negotiates contracts in compliance with client contracts, reimbursement structures, and other key process controls
• Demonstrate understanding of complex contract language to assess financial, non-financial and operational impact and legal implications of requested contract changes
• Analyze network and provider performance with respect to key indicators (e.g. compliance with regulatory audits; financial performance) to determine which programs to implement or modify
• Monitor provider financial performance to identify opportunities to improve performance and the provider relationship
• Collaborate with internal partners to ensure ongoing execution of processes are in line with contractual obligations.
• Assist in data generation and collateral for senior leadership business updates, Providing explanations and information to others on the most complex issues.
• Utilize exceptional organizational skills in the management of OptumRx contracts including but not limited to ensuring accurate/timely data, generating reports, and tracking monthly performance & adherence metrics.
• Be on point as the SME for Provider contracting related queries for our provider relations help desk.
Required Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent (finance / legal preferred)
• Value Based Contract Experience, with a focus on negotiation
• Strong communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Proven experience in financial modeling & development of product pricing
• Experience in strategic and business development roles, ideally in related industry (Pharmacy Benefit Management, Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, etc.)
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and influence across a matrix environment to deliver financial goals
• Experience interacting with executive leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
• Pharmaceutical and drug industry experience / background
• Advanced experience utilizing PowerPoint and Excel
