About the Position: Perform Special Program life cycle management operations involving planning, coordinating, and evaluating specific actions required to support classified, both acknowledged and unacknowledged, weapon system and munition programs. Responsibilities Function as focal point and source of information coordinating and directing support of assigned projects. Provide leadership to Planning Cell, assisting Production Controllers with their assigned projects and production orders. Coordinate with LEMC security manager and program security officers to oversee organizational level security program and assess requirements. Develop LEMC operational Special Programs facilities plans, ensuring the plans fulfill LEMC’s overall strategic plan, addressing internal and external security needs. Ensure effective and economical utilization of resources by conducting assessments of problem areas relying upon specialists in each functional area for detailed investigations and data Utilize knowledge of ammunition operations to include maintenance, supply, quality, and engineering to provide for the application of ammunition skills and capabilities throughout the lifecycle of Special Programs. Review and analyze production problems. Function as the LMP Responsible Person for all Special Program projects. Respond directly to command inquiries and requests, providing thorough data descriptive of organic depot facilities including scope, capability, and capacity available to accomplish SP projects/programs. Utilize the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) for planning, scheduling, reviewing, forecasting workload, and adjusting production and maintenance programs. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) serving as specialist for assignments relating to the integration of all aspects of life cycle management operations; 2) knowledge of ammunition operations to include maintenance, supply, quality, and engineering; 3) knowledge of Special Program Facilities and how they are to be protected and managed. 4) knowledge of supporting classified, sensitive, acknowledged and unacknowledged programs. 5) performing studies and developing projects on agency-wide logistics, with emphasis on life-cycle support for classified, sensitive, acknowledged and unacknowledged programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Planning and Evaluating Project Management Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
