PURPOSE OF POSITION

Assemble and ship correct parts, components, and products as scheduled according to specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

More specifically, the employee owner will:

  • Ensure parts and components are accurate according to specifications.

  • Use and understand various paperwork, including but not limited to bill of lading, prints, schedules, packing lists, shipping orders, and return goods authorizations.

  • Assemble and prepare orders for shipment including palletizing according to specifications.

  • Operate various hand-held power and air tools.

  • Organize, load and unload orders and/or incoming parts and components on common carriers, private carriers, and transfer trucks.

  • Ship via UPS or airfreight companies.

  • Label and count parts and components.

  • Verify the quality of workmanship for products leaving and entering the facility.

  • Transport products and components between departments, warehouse, and plants.

  • Clean and prepare parts and components for painting.

  • Paint components.

  • Perform general housekeeping and maintenance on equipment.

  • Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.

  • Regular, consistent attendance.

  • Strong commitment to quality and working safely.

  • Ability to read various measuring devices (e.g., measuring tape, caliper, micrometer, etc.).

  • Demonstrate proficient computer skills and be able to learn software as required to complete assigned responsibilities.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and/or order specifications.

  • Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written.

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS

  • High school diploma or a general education degree (GED): or

  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES

  • Fork lift license

  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job.

  • Must be able to frequently stoop/bend.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.

  • Specific hearing abilities required for this job include the ability to hear equipment alarms and the ability to hear instructions from others.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually LOUD.

  • Occasionally exposed to toxic chemicals.

  • Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.

  • Regularly exposed to outdoor conditions.

  • Steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection required where posted. Seatbelt required when operating the forklift.
